The search is over!

Updates

May 30, 2011

After three long weeks of searching and the emotional roller coaster that goes with it, we have found the house we believe that God has provided for the ministry. It’s in the same housing development we used to live in, just one block closer to town. The house is for sale, but the owners said they are willing to rent it to us until they can find a buyer. The rent is right in our budget, so it seems to be a great deal for both sides.
The house is made of brick with wooden beams. It’s two stories. There are three bedrooms upstairs with the living room/dining room/kitchen area on the first floor. We are excited that it has hot water, which is a real luxury here.
We had wanted to find a place closer to the center of the city, but God just closed those doors. He must want us to maintain contact with the neighbors we had before.
Right now, the plan is to pick up the keys tomorrow. Then we will clean on Wednesday and move in on Thursday and Friday. By this weekend, we should be sleeping in our own beds for the first time in over a year, and exactly four weeks since we arrived back in Ecuador.
One final prayer request is for Dave to be able to renew his driver’s license. He has been working on it for more than three weeks. The delay has been because there were no cards to make the licenses with, but today he found out there is a problem with his file that must be resolved in Quito. Pray with us as he goes to Quito early in the morning tomorrow and stands in the long lines again. Having a valid drivers license is pretty important for us. 🙂
Thank you for all your prayers. We’ll update you with pictures as soon as we can.

And I think it is bad to have to wait 30 minutes.
Glad to hear you found a house. Must feel good to have your own bed after all that time.
